Gmail has become the most favored email service in the past few years, from being able to easily use it between various web browsers and implement it into smartphones and tablets, to being able to use it as a hub for all your other email from different addresses (like outlook). Gmail is versatile, customizable, and most importantly user friendly.
Most people don’t realize this but Gmail also natively allows you to create multiple aliases of the same email instantly.
For example, let’s say you have the email of abuzz@gmail.com, nice, simple, and easy to remember. Maybe you want to filter out amazon newsletters you sign up for. When signing up for the newsletter, instead of typing in abuzz@gmail.com you type in abuzz+amazonnewsletter@gmail.com. Gmail will automatically send this to your regular inbox. If you want to organize these emails into a folder or want to block them all together, you can simply set up a rule in Gmail to block all emails sent to abuzz+amazonnewsletter@gmail.com.
Why does this work?
Gmail doesn’t count +word for example you can use :
+news
+spam
+family
+work
+etc
Gmail also allows you to implement dots(.) into the email as well and it will still send to you.
Example:
This works just like the +word example and you can even combine the two.
Is summary, if you have a free gmail account or G Suite account through us, use this technique to easily sign up for newsletters or register at websites you think may spam you.
